I have more than 25 years' experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been in private practice for nearly two decades providing individual, marital, couple and group therapy. I am an AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist and also certified in Mindfulness. My sex therapy training includes studying at both the Institute of Sexuality Education and Enlightenment (ISEE) and The Buehler Institute.
My approach to sex therapy is to create a confidential and non-judgmental environment, promoting the beneficial influence of sexuality on people’s lives through a scientific method rather than an ideological perspective. This transformative approach seeks to understand the psychological, biological, pharmacological, relational, and contextual aspects of sexual issues, and address them through a formalized and evidence-based process.
I began my career working in both public and private psychiatric facilities, including both inpatient and outpatient settings for the Texas Department of Health and Human Services in Houston, San Antonio, and Austin. My journey then led me to a private inpatient/outpatient facility where I gained extensive experience prior to entering into private practice. It was during a seminar by Barry McCarthy that I found my true calling as a sex therapist. Over the years, I have seen thousands of clients and have collaborated closely with many psychiatrists, psychologists and other therapists, bringing a wealth of experience to my practice. Clients often appreciate that I handle a wide range of issues, leveraging my expertise in couples counseling and sex therapy to provide comprehensive, compassionate care.
